My Husband Was Fingerprinted.....

I always knew that eventually, if I spent enough time with my husband, I would see the inside of the sheriffs office.  Well, that happened today.  He was fingerprinted by the Binford 2500 Super Duper fingerprinting machine.  Guaranteed results in 48 hours.  Now, before you jump to conclusions, even though I have led you down that road, it was for community service.  He has joined the Sheriff's Posse and had to pass the background check.  Part of that check was fingerprints.  While in the Sheriff's office, we got the 50 cent tour which meant meeting the Captain and even the SWAT Team leader.  Nice guys, hope we don't need their services later.  Wish I had brought my camera with me, I kind of would like to have made a Christmas card out of the actual fingerprinting.  Oh Yeah!  Redneck to the bone.

Final Show Results

Better late than never!  Once done at the show, the wonderful show hubby had my tackroom emptied and loaded in the trailer before I knew it.  Now, that's service!  He was in a hurry to get on the road because he wanted to stop at Camping World on the way home.  Anyway, the last day at the show went about the same as the first 2.  At least we are consistant.  We did move up in walk-trot to 4th. place.  5th. in Green, and the usual mini meltdown for Novice Amateur.  Back to church for the GJA and holding it together for the Select class enough to get the usual 5th.  Class was larger however so all in all, I was still really pleased with the big guy.  Next month, I am sure will be even bettter!
No photos, hubby only took video.  After we get all the chores caught up I should have time to edit some and put it up.  Yesterday I spend 6 hours mowing the yard and around the barn.  Rain was due in the middle of the night and I knew it would be too wet to mow for several more days.  Sorry Maia, California weather headed your way.

Show Results, Day 2

Boy, I'm tellin' ya, some days you just live right.  The GJA put his ADD on hold for the first 2 classes this morning.  He really tried to pay attention the WHOLE class.  Normally he is great for a few seconds and then it's "OOOO!  Shiney object!"  Anyway, we placed 5th in the walk-trot, good boy Sonny..  Then in HUS Green, again he was as good as possible for him and we once again placed 5th.  We weren't last.  There were people under us.  By now I am feeling pretty darn good about the whole thing.  Euphoria not to last long however.  Next class is novice Amateur.  GJA has a total meltdown.  He decides that he has cantered enough, throws his head up in the air, and breaks into an ugly trot.  I rattle his head down, put my leg on him to canter again and he fires out with his hind end.  Yep, THAT'S the GJA...  So after the class, we go to the warm up arena and have a come to Jesus meeting.  He sees the light.  Next class is Am. Select.  For you non horseshow folks it's the over 50 year old class.  Anyway, the bible class seems to work and he is good as gold.  We place 5th.  WE WERE"NT LAST!!!

Sorry, no photos.  The fab husband had to go to work, so it was just me, Penny , and the GJA.

New judge tomorrow.  YIPPEE!

Show Report!

It was a good day!  The GJA didn't buck, rear, shy or ANYTHING bad!  All in all, he did a really good job.  He showed improvement even since the show last Sunday.  We placed 5th. in walk-trot HUS, out of 14.  YIPPEE!  Then we did the cantering classes and placed 2nd. in Green HUS.  Don't get too excited... There were only 2 of us.  Anyway, then I placed 6th in the next class... once again hold the congrats, there were only 6 of us.  Next class he fell apart, wrong lead and just a dufuss.  All in all, he did some things really good for where he is in his training and I am happy with his performance.

Here is my happy home for 3 days.  My lovin' hubby was able to bring me here, set me up and help on the first day.  Then, he had to leave to go to work.  Now it's just Penny and me.  Oh ya, and the GJA.
The GJA napping in his stall.

There is a nice cafe.

And a Bar...YIPPEE!

This is Tish, she made all those beautiful tops!

OOOOH!  I forgot about the pool.  Not so good this weekend, but later this season it will be a godsend.

Horse Show!!!

Well, it's that time again.  3 day horse show.  I really like these since they give the GJA a chance to settle in and do a good job.  We went to a day show on Sunday and to my amazement, he did really well.  It was worth the trip.
Soooo, we got all cleaned up, and of course that meant the GJA.  I get as wet as he does.

Then, we get the trailer out and get it ready.

Notice anything funny?

Abby the barn kitty having a kitty bath on the trailer.  She really thinks she owns everything.

Anyway, then off to our favorite feed store, Lizzy's.  We take all our visiting friends there for a shopping trip.  It's owned by super nice folks.  They gave us a gift that we thought was perfect for our trailer.  What do you think?

It might be more believeable if she didn't wear
 clothes.....

Will keep you posted on the show!

Rain Rain Go Away!

What a doozie of a rain storm we had last night! Winds blew, water poured out of the sky and it was COLD! This is Spring! We are way below normal temp wise. At least we had sunshine today, in between the rain showers.

Here is my posse, Penny Pinscher in her pink rain coat.  She does like her clothes!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...  We have new calves.

I love this ones face

Another cutie!

I think this group is just lookin' for trouble!

And for todays fun, the GJA and I trotted ground poles.

He just loves it when we mix things up.

Wet, Windy, Cold Easter!

We went from spring to the middle of winter.  It is cold, blowing gale force winds and dumping rain.  The outside horses are huddled in their shelters looking miserable.  And, the “good” news is that it will go on for several more days.  So much for the drought in California!

Don’t they look miserable?

It was really nice today, and the horses enjoyed it, but it's not to last. Rain is forcasted for tonight or tomorrow morning with off and on showers until about Monday. Was fun while it lasted!
