We Are Just Like Animal Kingdom!

All the critters in the world are here on our ranch. Some cute, some not so cute. Some smart, some

not so smart. These birds are cute, but not so smart. They lay their eggs on the ground,

usually on the gravel walk or driveway. Then if you get too close, they play the

"OH MY GOD! My wing is broken! Follow Me, I'm an easy meal!
No, really ignore those little eggs." These parents have their nest somewhere close on the walkway to the barn.

I hope the babies hatch soon.

Peek A Boo!

As the saying goes, "I'm so busy...I don't know if I found a rope or lost a horse!

Anyway, we took a break from everything and had Mom over for a bar b que.
After we ate, we happened to glance up in the Mulberry tree and just look at what was napping there!

Look close..

Shhhhh.  Don't wake him!

Mean doggies ran it up a tree.  Just taking a snooze till they go away.

Catching Up!

Things have been hecka crazy around here.  Riding horses, trying to get the yard caught up, stacking hay and putting up new hotwire fence for the little shit.  Oh, and we went to the Horse Expo yesterday to pick up the feed doors for our barn.  No more dropping hay out on the aisle way for me to pick up!!!  Messy horses!

Wednesday is on the work program and doing well.  She is the sweetest girl.
She is a really good minded filly.

Did I mention cute?

And, I mentioned the Horse Expo, and besides the feed doors,
my super spud stud hubby bought me
this!

Every cowgirl needs western luggage!  It's a set of 4, all nestled together.
He's the best!

Poor, Poor Penny

Miss Penny Pinscher had a rough day yesterday.  She has had a hard lump on the top of her head for almost 2 weeks.  The vet looked at it and thought that she had just whacked her noggin on something and we were treating it with some Surpass to bring down the swelling.  Unfortunately, it wasn't working, the lump was getting bigger, and she was starting to look like a cone head, sooo, back to the vet.  Took an x-ray to make sure her brain wasn't leaking out and saw that whatever it was wasn't attached to the bone so he decided to whack it out.  It turned out to be an abscess that was totally encapsulated.  Good news.  She will be fine in a few days, but for now she is pretty pitiful.

The drain tubes will come out in a couple of days, and then the lampshade can come off.
And, in case you didn't know, it's not easy to sleep with a dog in a lampshade.
She ought to be back digging for gophers in about a week.

Another Cattle Drive!

Today was another one of our cattle drives.  First the all the ladies got their shots and pour on wormer, and then off to another pasture.  The newest arrival, we call her "Daisey", needed a lift.  Almost 2 days old and already riding a quad...
It's all about the fun!

We Are Back!

Well, I can't believe it.  Both computers are back up and running again.  Both laptops made a trip to the computer doctor for some surgery.  Treatment was a sucess and now I can see what you all were up to!

Meanwhile, the GJA and I went to another 3 day show and did well enough to earn a PAC point.  That is a Paint Alternative Credit.  Even though we were at an AQHA show, since he is double registered and it was PAC approved, we got a point.  YIPPEE!  He is getting better every show.

Yesterday Max the shoer was here, (I'm sure I made his house payment for him this month) and we put shoes on William and Wednesday.  It's time for them to get to work.
Will put some photos of them up next post.

Hard to remember them this little!
