Miss Penny Pinscher had a rough day yesterday. She has had a hard lump on the top of her head for almost 2 weeks. The vet looked at it and thought that she had just whacked her noggin on something and we were treating it with some Surpass to bring down the swelling. Unfortunately, it wasn't working, the lump was getting bigger, and she was starting to look like a cone head, sooo, back to the vet. Took an x-ray to make sure her brain wasn't leaking out and saw that whatever it was wasn't attached to the bone so he decided to whack it out. It turned out to be an abscess that was totally encapsulated. Good news. She will be fine in a few days, but for now she is pretty pitiful.
The drain tubes will come out in a couple of days, and then the lampshade can come off.
And, in case you didn't know, it's not easy to sleep with a dog in a lampshade.
She ought to be back digging for gophers in about a week.

Poor lil thang.
Oh, the lamp shade collar is so awful - for dogs and their humans!
I hope she recovers soon.
Oh poor poor Penny! Glad it wasn't any thing real major!
Try having that lampshade thing-y on a Great Dane! It's like a satellite dish with legs and no brain!
I get Tripps Tomorrow!
